The gear for catching zander in summer is so diverse that it is hardly possible to mention them all. Fishermen are so inventive in coming up with new baits and gear that one can only marvel at their imagination and… envy a little.
Of course, there are various baits and gear that cost serious money. First of all, this is the equipment of a spinning angler. To catch zander with a spinning rod on jig baits made of edible rubber, significant expenses are required for a good rod, reel, braided cord and, of course, the baits themselves. Jig fishing is probably the most popular among the methods of catching zander.
A feature of baits made of edible rubber is their attractiveness to the predator not only by the game and appearance, but also by the smell and taste. Zander, like other predators, is always not averse to snacking on such rubber, often simply salted, which is already an attractive taste factor. Therefore, pike perch, especially small ones, can pursue such bait, hitting it, biting, and almost guaranteed to get caught on the hook.
Much has already been said about the use of spinners, both rotating and oscillating. They are usually used in the summer for night fishing for pike perch and zander, when these predators, contrary to their habits, come to shallow sand spits running next to pits. Narrow spinners are beyond competition here, as are spinners, which work well along channel pits along the edge, sometimes near the bank, from which tree branches hang.
